An Insider’s Perspective on Life at CND Life Sciences

Kendall Swanson started at CND Life Sciences as an intern in the summer before her senior year of college. She was studying psychology, and marketing wasn’t an obvious next step for her. However, CND was introducing its flagship product to the market during a global pandemic and was looking for good talent to make an instant impact. As the summer internship extended to an ongoing engagement with the company, Kendall graduated and was offered a full-time position at CND. It’s been full speed ahead ever since.

As the now experienced marketing coordinator, Kendall wears many hats. She works on digital marketing campaigns, tracks web and SEO metrics, plans company events, helps with sales team training, and has started to get involved with product development. “Being at a start-up means I get to do a lot of things that aren’t strictly traditional marketing.”

A primary theme in Kendall’s experience working at CND is the tremendous opportunity she has to learn new things. “I learn something new every hour.” The culture is one where employees care for each other and “…everyone is willing to jump in and help. If I have questions, I feel comfortable going to anyone for answers or guidance.”

This level of collaboration stands out to Kendall as a key reason for the company’s success. “Everyone pitches in, and all the departments come together. It gives us the opportunity to learn from each other.” She’s excited about where this collaboration will take the company as CND develops new diagnostic technologies to help physicians and their patients.

When Kendall describes her top reasons for coming to work every day, first on her list is the people. She describes her coworkers as “…dedicated, driven, and passionate about what we’re doing, but also approachable and always willing to help. Everyone puts in whatever it takes.”

“The company’s mission of helping people with neurological conditions, especially as more promising treatments become available,” is another factor that motivates Kendall in her work. Some of her colleagues interact directly with patients, answering questions about the Syn-One Test®. Kendall admires the way her colleagues treat patients with compassion and care.

Kendall sums up her experience at CND like this: “We’re all working together toward a common goal, and everyone here loves what they do. It’s a great company to work for.”
