CND Life Sciences Supports Rare Disease Day

Rare Disease Day is February 28, 2021. EURORDIS, the organizer of Rare Disease Day, works to achieve more equitable access to diagnosis, treatment, care, and social opportunity for those with rare diseases.

More than 300 million people worldwide are living with a rare disease, defined as a disease that affects fewer than 200,000 people at any given time. In the US, more than 6,800 diseases are classified as rare.

Challenges faced by individuals with rare diseases include social isolation, discrimination at work and school, and challenges in getting an accurate diagnosis. Those with rare diseases are often misdiagnosed or not diagnosed at all, as it can be difficult to find a healthcare professional with experience diagnosing a particular rare disease.

CND Life Sciences is proud to offer clinicians support in diagnosing two rare diseases, multiple system atrophy and pure autonomic failure, with its Syn-One Test™
