CND Life Sciences understands the need for education, support, and advocacy for those who are at risk for neurological disease. The increasing incidence of Parkinson’s disease and other neurodegenerative conditions, along with accumulating evidence of environmental risk factors and advances in diagnostic tools that enable earlier detection, are all prompting more patients to ask what they can do to maintain brain health as they age.
In our commitment to put patients first and in recognition of the importance of empowering those at risk, CND has partnered with the Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders (PMD) Alliance to initiate the Proactive Brain Health Alliance (PBHA). This collaborative initiative provides free, high-quality, health and science education on topics relevant to those who are at risk for, or living in, the preclinical or prodromal stages of neurodegenerative disease. Although the offerings are presently geared toward those at risk for Parkinson’s and related disorders, many of the insights are also applicable to anyone interested in a proactive approach to brain health.
Every other month, PBHA highlights the work of key opinion leaders in the field of neurology, each of whom presents to a live audience via a virtual webinar, which is then recorded and housed in an online video library. Presentations encourage evidence-based lifestyle modifications to improve brain health and include topics such as:
- Lifestyle Medicine
- The Role of Genetics in Parkinson’s
- REM Sleep Behavior Disorder: An Early Sign of Parkinson’s?
- Evaluating Environmental & Chemical Exposure in Movement Disorders
- How Exercise Increases Brain Adaptability
- GI Issues in Parkinson’s: From Prodromal to Progressive Disease
In addition to education, PBHA provides a quarterly, professionally facilitated, virtual gathering space for those concerned about their risk for developing neurodegenerative disease. Titled “The Space Between,” these sessions address the concerns of those who live in the space between risk and diagnosis by promoting networking among participants and providing emotional support across varied and shared experiences. The next session takes place July 17, 2025 (register here).
Over the course of the next year, the Proactive Brain Health Alliance will be offering six educational webinars and four facilitated Q&A sessions regarding actionable insights for brain health. Join to learn from experts and connect with others who are at risk for neurological disease. Learn more at proactivebrainhealth.org.
